Mesothelioma is a type of cancer, and people who work on jobs where asbestos is used or manufactured are likely to suffer from this deadly disease. People who have been exposed to asbestos dust or fibers contract this disease, and the disease is so deadly that being exposed to asbestos fibers even once can cause this disease. People, who work on construction jobs or at shipyards, are at maximum risk. Others who are likely to get this dreaded disease are insulators, boilermakers, ship fitters, steel workers, maintenance workers, pipe fitters and brake mechanics. Mesothelioma is a relatively new disease and about 2000 workers contract this disease in US each year most of whom seek compensation through a mesothelioma claim. Workers who suffer from this disease can claim compensation from their employees. Since, employers are bound to provide safe working environment to their employees, so they have to pay compensation to workers who have been exposed to asbestos. Even the families of workers are at risk of getting this disease, because workers are likely to carry this dust on their clothes and infect their family members. Treatment for this disease consists of surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy depending on the stage of the disease.

Visual Interface Standard

Digital Visual Interface is a video interface standard designed for improving the visual quality of display devices like flat panel LCD,digital projectors. DVI cable connectors are designed in such a way as not to allow the user to connect the cable in an incorrect position. Previous standards such as the VGA were designed for CRT-based devices and thus did not use discrete time display addressing. DVI is faster and cleaner than a VGA connection because with the VGA it is transmitted as an analog signal and has to get converted to digital This can lead to quality loss and takes a little extra time to convert. DVI is a digital signal that gets transmitted digitally so there is no conversion or quality loss since it is already a digital signal thats easily read by the video card. DVI cables have improved home movie watching a lot as now it gives us the same clarity as in cinemas. DVI cables have evolved over time to become more efficient in providing what users need.

Mobile Phones were a luxury item

March 11th, 2009 by admin

Just as recently as a decade ago, mobile phones were considered a luxury item. Very few people actually carried mobile phones, and those who did were considered big shots. However, as technology has quickly advanced, mobile phones have become a dime a dozen. Children carry mobile phones, and the payphone is quickly losing its space in the gas station parking lot. Because there are so many different kinds of mobile phones on the market, and so many companies competing for our business, good deals on mobile phones are becoming easier to find. Most companies will offer competitive rates, and many different kinds of calling plans. Most companies will also offer special incentives to sign contracts with their companies. As a result, consumers can often receive free or lower priced state of the art mobile phones for next to nothing. Mobile phones are becoming more and more advanced, and the market is becoming more competitive. As a result, the mobile phone market is offering great deals and excellent rates on mobile phones and mobile phone services.

The world of sports betting

Recently I engulfed myself into the world of sports betting. Not only did I know you could bet on who can win, you bet on margins of victory as well. You can bet on any sport imaginable.
1. Pick a winner
When placing this bet, you are betting the team to beat the opponent strait up. Although you carry a 50% chance of winning in almost all of the sports, it is a fairly low risk bet. This means that in many cases picking the likely winner will not yield a high percent of winnings.
2. Game Lines
A game line is a spread of points for which the winning team shall clear the other team by. For instance, a team with a -6 line means the team must win by more than 6 points to win the bet. Now not only do you pick a team to win, they must cover this spread. You can also bet on the loser to stay within the spread. These bets are more difficult to win, but tend to yield a better percent of winnings.

Sophisticated Antivirus Software

March 11th, 2009 by admin

Over the past several years, antivirus software has become increasingly more sophisticated. The downside of this is that many users have been burdened with the hassles of resolving conflicts between their business applications and their antivirus software. Antivirus software is there to prevent malicious software (malware) from infecting your computer. The effects of malware can range from strange errors, to your computer being remotely hijacked to disrupt other Internet users. Keeping your antivirus software up to date not only protects your computer, but, vigilance about viruses also makes the Internet safer on the whole. However, sometimes antivirus software can disrupt tasks such as sending and receiving email. When this happens, you can temporarily switch off your antivirus program. If you don’t have any antivirus software or do not wish to install any, but you suspect you have a virus, you can always use an online scanning program.

My Harrowing Experience

March 11th, 2009 by admin

If I have to write an article about medical negligence, I do not have to look elsewhere. My very own experience is a proof enough that even so called reputed hospitals can sometimes err which can result in avoidable agony and trauma to the patient. It is very girl’s dream to get married to an understanding and loving person. Mine was no different. My husband was a wonderful person who thought the world of me. Within one year of our marriage, I conceived and my joy knew no bounds. Both of us were on cloud nine. I went for regular monthly check ups and the lady doctor was very kind and understanding. I had developed a close rapport with her during the period and I would confide in her every once in a while and she would gladly give me a patient hearing. I was a very meticulous and obedient patient and would follow all her instructions to the letter. There was not a single irregularity in my report. Well, the D-day arrived and I started developing shooting pain in the early hours of December 3, 1983. Looking at me, my mom said I was ready to go to the hospital. We reached the hospital and I requested to see my Gynecologist. She had gone home and sent a message saying that since it was my first delivery, the baby would not arrive for another six to seven hours and I was told to lie in a bed and wait for the doctor. My pain was unbearable and my cries brought tears in the onlookers’ eyes. This went for next five to six hours. I couldn’t eat, sleep or do anything other than let out cries of excruciating pain. By 7 p.m. in the evening, I was fully exhausted and the pain too had subsided on its own and then the doctor made her grand entry! She felt me all over and announced without any emotion that since the pain had ceased, I would not be able to have a normal delivery and my case warranted a forceps induced delivery. We all acquiesced as we were left with no alternative. My baby arrived in the next half an hour and all was forgotten. But, there were some bruise on his head which needed urgent attention. Well, he was fine in a few days. What I would like to mention here is that it was the negligence on the part of the hospital and the doctor in question which led to my having a forceps delivery instead of a normal one. We realized their main intention was to make more money here as the second option would result in a hefty bill, and it was the ploy on the part of the doctor to earn more.
